Fabrizio has returned to racing in smart form this season and remains a clear $3 favourite in 2016 Villiers Stakes betting markets with Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Hazzabeel ($8.50) and High Midnight ($9.50).

Will Fabrizio justify his clear favouritism and win the 2016 Villiers Stakes, or will one of his rivals post an upset?

Fabrizio ($3)

Fabrizio has shown glimpses of brilliance this year and his form suggests that he should just win the 2016 Villiers Stakes on Saturday. A bold plan to open a big gap at the fore of the field did not pay off when the High Chaparral gelding faded to finish tenth in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) on October 1st, but he responded in the best way possible with a near-five length triumph in the Bartier Perry BM93 (1600m) on October 15th. Last seen savaging the line for another comfortable win in the Listed James Boag’s Symphony Stakes (1800m) on Melbourne Cup Day, Fabrizio will carry only 55.5kgs in the Villiers Stakes and will be partnered by in-form hoop Tim Clark.

Dibayani ($12)

Consistent performer Dibayani’s class is sure to count for a lot in the Villiers Stakes, and the Lindsay Park hopeful arguably offers punters the best value for money at current odds. Resuming in spring for second in the Group 3 Aurie’s Star Handicap (1200m), the Shamardal gelding placed third in the Group 2 Tramway Stakes (1400m) before finishing an agonizingly-close second in the Epsom Handicap. Dibayani failed to fire in the Group 2 Salinger Stakes (1200m) last time out on October 29th, but has reportedly taken plenty of benefit from a freshen-up ahead of the Villiers Stakes.

Big Memory ($26)

A noted stayer, Big Memory has proven ability over shorter distances first-up and drawn ideally for a good run in the Villiers Stakes from barrier 9, with Tommy Berry and only 54.5kgs in tow. Resuming in spring for third in the Spring Is The Season Handicap (1700m), the Duke Of Marmalade gelding failed to fire in the Moniek Sambor Tile Import Handicap (1700m), but savaged the lien for second in the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes (2400m) last time out on October 8th.
